The Shoreditch Arms

At 127 Shoreditch High Street, The Shoreditch Arms has outdoor seating and an enclosed garden. With a dog, an enclosed garden beats a pavement table every time. During the week there are lunch options and small plates, along with craft beers, cocktails, wines and spirits. The basement is Bar Kick, the pub's space for live sport and games. On a match day, a dog who prefers peace and quiet will be happier out in the garden.

The Carpenters Arms

On Cheshire Street, over the line in Tower Hamlets, The Carpenters Arms has outdoor seating and is about a 6-minute walk from Bethnal Green station. It's a good one for a slow afternoon with the dog settled at your feet in the fresh air.

The Edge Bar

The Edge Bar is at 23-24 Shoreditch High Street, right by Shoreditch High Street station. It has been serving cocktails, beers and food since 2015, with cosy seating inside and more outside. On a fine evening, take an outdoor table so your dog can watch the High Street go by.

A Quick Dash From the Station

It's handy when the walk from the train is short, especially on a wet day or with an older dog.

Three Crowns

Three Crowns, at 8 East Road, is about 2 minutes from Old Street station, the shortest walk from a station of any pub here. It's a traditional pub with a head chef cooking pub classics: mains, burgers, bar snacks and Sunday roasts. Behind the bar there are craft beers and real ales on tap, plus lagers, stouts and ciders. Sport is shown on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, so expect a crowd and some cheering when a big game is on.

Swift Shoreditch

Swift is at 91-93 Great Eastern Street, about a 4-minute walk from Old Street. It's known for award-winning cocktails, with seasonal specials alongside the classics, and it has a relaxed feel. Come here for a proper cocktail with the dog curled up beside you.

Lively Locals With Games and Good Beer

These two are for a sociable dog who doesn't mind some noise.

Queen's Head Shoreditch

Beer is the draw at 222 Shoreditch High Street. There are international classics, local craft beer and beer brewed on site, and the team will do flights and samples if you can't decide. The food is British pub classics and burgers. The Queen's Head also has shuffleboard, karaoke and live sport on screen, from Premier League football to cricket, tennis and rugby, so on a busy night it gets loud.

Commercial Tavern

On Commercial Street, where Spitalfields meets Shoreditch, the Commercial Tavern is a Victorian corner pub with large windows, eccentric decoration and a cocktail bar upstairs. The bar has rotating craft beers, cocktails and a wide range of spirits. The burgers come from Meat Stop, which uses dry-aged British beef and makes its own sauces. There's table football too, and spaces for private hire if you're planning a get-together.

After a Long Walk

The Barley Mow

The Barley Mow is on Curtain Road, about 5 minutes from Shoreditch High Street station. It opens from 4pm on weekdays and Saturdays, which makes it an evening pub. Come here for a pint once your dog is happily worn out from the day's walk.

A Good Day Out With Your Dog

Give your dog a decent walk before you sit down. A tired dog settles under a table far more easily than one that still has energy to burn. Bring a collapsible water bowl and some treats so they have something to do while you finish your drink.

Several of these pubs show live sport, and the Queen's Head has karaoke as well.
