Ye Olde Mitre Barnet

Ye Olde Mitre is a Greene King pub on the High Street in Chipping Barnet. It says it is thought to be the oldest coaching house still standing in the area, with reports that it dates back as far as the 1600s, and that Charles Dickens and Samuel Pepys have both drunk there.

Inside, the pub keeps exposed beams, wood-panelled walls and traditional fireplaces. The bar pours a wide selection of cask ales, lagers and beers, including Greene King's own Flint Eye, Prior Life and Greene King IPA, as well as wines and signature spirits. The kitchen serves traditional pub food through the week, with vegan, vegetarian and non-gluten containing options. There is also a beer garden.

For dog owners, the pub describes itself as dog-friendly and says it loves dogs great and small. The nearest station is High Barnet, about a 5 minute walk away.
