Crutched Friar is a pub at 39-41 Crutched Friars, part of the Pubsmiths group. The name comes from a Roman Catholic order of cross-bearing brethren that settled on the site in 1249, and the pub describes itself as occupying the historic building where the friars once lived.

It serves a large selection of cask ales alongside newer craft beers, an extensive gin selection and a wine range, with British food from a quick lunch to a sit-down dinner. Guests can drink in the courtyard or settle into the dining room and bar, and the pub says it caters for corporate parties with canapes and Prosecco.

The pub's website says it welcomes well-behaved dogs, with selected areas reserved for guests with dogs. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, stay calm around other guests and be supervised by their owner. It also lists a dog menu with bar snacks, treat pots, dinner bowls and dog drinks, though stock may vary. Fenchurch Street station is about a minute away on foot, Tower Hill two minutes and Tower Gateway four.
