The Green Roof Café is inside High Elms Country Park, off Shire Lane near Orpington in the London Borough of Bromley. It is a single storey timber frame building with a sedum roof, straw bale walls and sun pipes, and forms part of Bromley Environmental Education Centre at High Elms, close to 250 acres of mature woodland and meadows.

Indoor seating is for 36, with another 60 on the covered terrace. The kitchen makes daily specials, and the café serves dairy ice cream, local fruit juices and freshly ground coffee. It sells organic fruit juices made in the Kent village of Lamberhurst, and its honey is made nearby. It is a member of the Sustainable Restaurant Association, and there is free parking.

The café says dogs and their owners will find bowls of cold water, chews and even sausages as an extra treat, and it describes itself as popular with cyclists and walkers, often accompanied by a dog. The nearest stations are Chelsfield (29 minutes on foot), Orpington (32) and Knockholt (48).
