The Hydrant, Monument

Dog-friendly pub in the City of London, perfect for a relaxing break.

The Hydrant is a Fuller's pub and restaurant at Equitable House, 1 Monument Street, in the City of London. Its website places it right opposite the Monument to the Great Fire of London, on the north side of London Bridge, and next door to the entrance to Monument station.

Inside, the pub offers a menu of refined pub classics made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and a bar that runs from modern craft beers to cask classics. There is a first-floor mezzanine that the pub says is suited to parties and private hires, plus function rooms for business meetings, weddings and birthdays.

Paws of London lists The Hydrant as dog-friendly after an editorial check; the dog-policy card below shows where that comes from and when it was last checked.

Getting there is simple by rail. Monument is the closest station, with Bank on the DLR about 5 minutes away and Cannon Street around 4 minutes on foot. For drivers, the pub says there is metered parking nearby but it cannot promise a space.
