The Gladstone Arms

Live music pub with garden, craft beers & Indian fusion food near Borough.

The Gladstone Arms, known as The Glad, is a family-run pub on Lant Street in Southwark, run by siblings Meg and G. The pub says it has stood on the street since the nineteenth century, with a later rebuild, and is named after William Gladstone.

It is a live music pub, with gigs every Tuesday and Sunday ranging from folk and blues to pop and electronica, plus comedy and open mic nights. The bar has around 13 beers on tap, including ales and craft beers from local breweries. The kitchen serves Anglo-Indian food that mixes British classics with Indian spices, such as a chicken tikka masala pie. There is a beer garden and roof terrace, and an upstairs function room for private hire.

The pub's contact page says it is a dog friendly pub. Borough station is a one minute walk away, with Elephant and Castle and London Bridge both about 9 minutes on foot.
