Two Chairmen

Historic Westminster pub that loves dogs as much as it loves a proper pint.

The Two Chairmen is a Greene King pub at 39 Dartmouth Street in Westminster, close to the Houses of Parliament. The pub says it has stood on Dartmouth Street since around 1756, on a site that goes back to the 1600s, and its name refers to the men who carried sedan chairs through London's streets in the 17th and 18th centuries. The pub sign above the front entrance reflects that.

Behind the bar there is a range of beers and cask ales, including regularly changing guest ales and craft beers. The food is pub cooking: homemade pub snacks, sharing platters, a scotch egg, a fish finger sandwich, pie and mash, and roasts. Plates are served through the day.

The website lists the pub as dog friendly under its facilities and has a section on its dog-friendly pub, and Paws of London records dogs as welcome indoors. St James's Park station is a two-minute walk away, and Westminster is about six minutes on foot.
