Anchor Bankside

Historic riverside pub welcoming dogs. Dine in a piece of London's Shakespearean past!

The Anchor Bankside is a waterside pub at 34 Park Street in Bankside, Southwark, run by Greene King. Its own page says it was rebuilt in 1676 after the Great Fire of London and remains the sole survivor of the river taverns of Shakespeare's time. It lists Shakespeare's Globe as six minutes away and Borough Market as close by.

The kitchen serves traditional pub food, including fish and chips, sirloin steak, burgers and soups, with vegan, vegetarian and non-gluten containing options. The bar pours wines, beers and spirits, including Greene King's own beers such as Flint Eye, Prior Life and Greene King IPA. There is a beer garden with views of London landmarks, and function rooms can be hired for meetings and parties. The pub accepts coaches, has free Wi-Fi and offers disabled facilities.

The pub calls itself dog-friendly and says it loves dogs great and small. Paws of London's dog-policy card below shows where its own record comes from and when it was last checked.

Cannon Street station is about a 6 minute walk away, with London Bridge and Mansion House about 7 minutes.
