The Anchor & Hope

The Anchor & Hope is a small Fuller's pub at 15 High Hill Ferry in Clapton, on the banks of the River Lea. The site calls it one of Fuller's smallest and cosiest pubs, and says it can be reached on foot, by bike or even by boat.

Draught beer, either cask or keg, is the main draw, backed by a carefully curated wine list and a selection of popular spirits. Seating is on large benches, which the pub says are meant to get neighbours talking. It also has a courtyard bar and cafe called The Hatch, serving coffee, pastries and cocktails, and recorded outdoor seating. For food, a jerk joint called Angel's Delights operates on the doorstep, and customers are invited to bring in a takeaway from elsewhere.
