The Albion

Georgian Barnsbury pub with wisteria charm—dogs welcome.

The Albion is a pub and restaurant at 10 Thornhill Road in Barnsbury, which its website calls a Georgian gem. It sits just off Upper Street in the Barnsbury conservation area and is part of the Noble Inns Group. The building has a wisteria-covered façade and log fires, and a careful Georgian restoration highlights original wood-panelled walls.

The French windows in the restaurant area open onto a wisteria-filled English country garden, which the pub describes as one of Islington's finest beer gardens. A Private Dining Room, designed by a local resident, has one long table that seats a maximum of 24, and the whole pub including the garden can be hired exclusively for up to 120 guests. Sunday roast is part of the menu.

Paws of London lists it as dog-friendly after an editorial check; the dog-policy card below shows where that comes from and when it was last checked. Caledonian Road and Barnsbury station is a seven-minute walk, Angel is about ten minutes, and Highbury and Islington about eleven.
