The Blacksmiths Arms

Rotherhithe's pub gem with English-Thai fusion & a dog-friendly secret garden.

The Blacksmiths Arms is a family-run bar and restaurant at 257 Rotherhithe Street in Rotherhithe, Southwark, close to the River Thames. It sits near the start of Rotherhithe Street, next door to the Hilton Docklands.

The kitchen serves a mix of English and Thai dishes, from battered fish and chips to a Thai green curry. A children's menu is available every day, and there is a Sunday roast menu with bottomless Yorkshire puddings. The bar serves beers, wines and cocktails. Upstairs, a first-floor dining area can be used for private dining or buffet-style events. The pub also has a garden, which the site calls its secret garden, and Paws of London records outdoor seating and an enclosed garden.

Paws of London lists it as dog-friendly after an editorial check; the dog-policy card below shows where that comes from and when it was last checked.

The nearest stations are Westferry, about 9 minutes on foot, then Heron Quays and Limehouse, each around 11 minutes. The pub's own directions point to Canada Water or Surrey Quays, with the C10 bus stopping on Rotherhithe Street.
