The Old White Bear

The Old White Bear is a pub at 1 Well Road, NW3, in Hampstead. The website calls it an independent pub at the heart of Hampstead since 1704, on the edge of Hampstead Heath and an easy walk from Hampstead High Street, and says it is one of the last truly independent pubs in the area.

Drinks include cask ale, wine and beer from local craft brewers, and the pub also makes its own lemonade. The kitchen works from a fresh daily menu prepared on site, and the pub takes pride in its Sunday roasts. Inside there are open fires in the winter, suntrap seating in the summer and bears on the walls. An upstairs function room hosts some events.
